Dear Friends and Prayer Supporters,
First of all, bless you in the Name of Jesus Christ. We trust you are well and able to rejoice in the Lord and his Call over our lives in every way. Now a brief update, particularly as regards our active participation this year in Canal Ministries and associated opportunities.
Carole and I are now in better health than earlier this year, thank the Lord, but we are having to accept that, from reckoning that ageing is a process that happens to everyone else, it also are now included us as well ! So, we don’t know for how many more seasons we may be actively boating.
This season, as many of you will know, we are delighted to take part in the Canal Ministries-Boaters Christian Fellowship Mission from 6th June to 22 June. This will take place in two Midlands canal towns, Droitwich and Stourport. It isn’t realistic for us to take our boat, “Days of Elijah” across the Ribble and down to the Midlands. Instead we shall be staying on “Maranatha”, by kind invitation of the ever-patient Ernie and Sandra Kibble. Please pray for the mission (and for us). We long to see local churches encouraged and people brought to personal saving faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
When we return to Milnthorpe in late June we look forward to some special Christian meetings in the village supported by Christians Together in Milnthorpe, (CTiM), and led by Carnforth Free Methodist Church. A Songs of Praise evening takes also place on the village green in early July
We intend by then to be back and forth, cruising the length of the “Black and White” (the Lancaster Canal) and also taking several canal excursions requested by a variety of people and groups. .
We conclude by inviting you to pray for:
- Canal Ministries and the Boaters Christian Fellowship, a witness of our time.
- The Carnforth Free Methodist Church of which we are members.
- All the churches in Milnthorpe village itself.
- Our national life and the continuing squeeze on Christian values.
Every Blessing this Summer,
David and Carole Brennand
