I am married to Ruth, and we have 3 grown up children. I worked as a housing manager before becoming a pastor, firstly in the Worthing area, then on the outskirts of Bath at Union Chapel. I was Peter Atwill's successor and, as he and Lin retained their membership, we got to know them.
We then spent about 3 years living in Jerusalem, working at the Garden Tomb, before returning to the UK and joining the Team at Stanton House near Oxford, which is a Christian Retreat House. I am now pastor of Tyndale Baptist Community Church, which serves the Yate/Chipping Sodbury area north of Bristol and the M4.
When the process of establishing Canal Ministries started, we were really pleased that Peter's work was going to continue. I was honoured when asked to be a Trustee, and so have been involved since the beginning.
My boating expertise extends to one short break on a narrow boat(!) but, as a pastor, I am very aware of the need to reach and support, assist and encourage those using the canals, who can face many challenges which arise from the unique lifestyle.
