Sharing God’s Love on the Waterways

Canal Ministries - on the Inland Waterways

Connect with Us

Prayer.

Prayer.
Prayer.

We value prayerful support, whether individual or corporate.

Please pray for the team. For the Trustees, as they oversee our ministry on the Inland Waterways. For the Team, as they go out and about. Read the individual testimonies under "About Us", and pray for all the individuals involved in Canal Ministries. Take a look at the news - find out what the team are currently doing, and uplift them in prayer. Pray for those they have come across and worked with. Pray that God will nuture the seeds that have been sown.

Talks.

Our team have a range of talents, and would love to come and talk to your church or organisation about the work that we do.

We can highlight the varied needs on the canals. Raise awareness of the communities that exist on our waterways that many do not even know about. Our team can share with you the peace of the canals. Learn about the history of the canal in your area. Find out what it is like to live on a narrowboat.

One of our team is registered Severely Vision Impaired and has a Guide Dog. She would be delighted to come along and give an interactive talk about her faith, sight loss and/or Guide Dogs.

Our team are happy to address small groups (Men's/Ladies meetings, youth groups, etc) and/or to take a slot in your church service or even the whole sermon/preach. We have ordained Ministers on our team, plus other gifted speakers / presenters. Please either give us a call, or contact Peter Atwill in the first instance by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

Every gift, however small, helps us in fulfilling God's call to mission and to spread the Gospel.

It allows us to feed the hungry and help boaters who are in distress. Although for many the dream is to live (maybe retire) onto the waterways, and enjoy an idyllic lifestyle, for others, the reality can be very different.

Sadly, some people find themselves almost forced onto the canals as a perceived cheap way of living. Maybe a family situation has caused this. They can then end up feeling isolated, as well as struggling to survive. With your help, Canal Ministries can come alongside these people and give them practical support where appropriate, and share the Gospel with them. As well as food parcels, we can provide coal for heating, diesel (for hot water, charging batteries, etc), and assist boaters with practical and/or mechanical problems.
