I was brought up in a Christian home but had my own, personal, encounter with Jesus Christ at the age of 7. This experience has remained a vivid memory ever since. It has had, and continues to have, a profound influence on the person I am today.

I grew up in the beautiful county of Devon and spent all my working life there as a primary school teacher. Then, ten years ago, I met and married a farmer in Oxfordshire where I have been living ever since.

My faith has always been a source of strength throughout my life and I will always be thankful to God for His amazing gift of love that has enabled me to walk with Him over the years. Because of this, when He has provided opportunities for me to serve Him I have tried to take them. This has led me to doing many things that have taken me outside my comfort zone – including street evangelism in Torquay as well as a trip to India to help with a mission there.

I have also had an active role in the churches I have attended. I have been asked to serve in various ways, such as Sunday school co-ordinator and teacher, house group leader and as a deacon. I currently help in my local community as a volunteer at the Christian book shop and as a trustee and volunteer at the local food bank. I feel very honoured also to have been invited to join Canal Ministries as a trustee and am looking forward to seeing what God has lined up for me to do here.
