I was born in 1953. Brought up in what is now County Cleveland, I was schooled at Nunthorpe County Modern, Eston Technical Grammar and University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, studying Physics. I trained as a teacher and taught in Birmingham, where I met and married my wife, Sue. I came to Christ while a student in Aberystwyth.
After some years teaching, I felt the call to the Ministry and trained at London Bible College, now London School of Theology. From there, I pastored Milland Evangelical Church and taught Physics in local Schools. In 1994, I was called as full time pastor of Barnoldswick Gospel Mission and served up to retirement in 2018. During this time, Sue and I were foster carers for Lancashire County Council and were able to adopt two of the children we looked after.
We have five adult children and six wonderful grandchildren. Sue I enjoy walking and bird watching.
We are involved in Canal Ministries because Barnoldswick is on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal and through our friendship with Peter Atwill, whose house in Barnoldswick we look after.
