Chris & Sally Buck

Hi. We are Chris and Sally Buck. Chris is a Gas engineer/teacher. Sally enjoys making cakes and scones. She used to work in a Christian book and coffee shop. We have 2 children: Sam, who is married to Rebecca, and Jacob. Our boat is called Kairos. The name is Greek for the right moment in time or God's timing, which was definitely the right moment for us. Kairos is a 62' semi trad narrow boat. It had previously been owned by another member of Canal Ministries and was built for them from new in 2004.

We have been on our boat very much on and off since we bought it in 2014, but we are praying that this year (2018) we can spend more time on it. When we are on our boat we really are blessed by the wide variety of people we meet along the waterways. We were originally based up in Ellesmere, Shropshire, and this place holds a special place in our hearts. In 2017 we moved Kairos down to the Kennet and Avon to be closer to family and also to spend time with other members of Canal Ministries who were based on the Kennet and Avon and be with the other boaters on this canal.
