Isaiah 40:31: "But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

Dear Friends

Is it just us, or are the years getting shorter? January 2019 seems but a month or two behind us, when in fact January 2020 is less than a month away.

This year has seen a change for us as we moved back (at least in part) to our house in Cornwall. It was in need of much redecoration and so this autumn we have needed to split our time between Spring Water and our house in order to make headway with that. We still have a little way to go…

Having moved Spring Water from the Kennet & Avon Canal, we are waiting for more opportunities to serve God on the Ashby Canal. We have had meetings with folk from different churches, which is good and we pray and wait for God’s direction to see in what way or how he would have us involved.

Up till now on the Ashby, we have been delighted to be able to give out food parcels, with a New Testament in them, to the occasional boater in need. We pray as we walk the towpaths for God’s Blessing to be poured out, for His Kingdom to come, for the presence of the Holy Spirit to tangible and for Him to go before us and all who seek to proclaim our precious Lord Jesus; His Salvation, His peace and His amazing love.

We had the privilege and very great delight in September of speaking to a Church Ladies' group in Derby about the work of Canal Ministries and the gracious opportunities God has given us over the years to be involved in His work. They were encouraged and praised God for all He has been doing.

We keep in touch with the boaters we have met on the K&A and continue to pray for them, offering any help that we can give or just spending time over a cup of tea with them as we visit. It is a wonderful privilege to be a part of their lives, knowing always that Jesus is with us and praying that He will shine through.

Please pray that this will always be the case; pray if you would for more opportunities for us to be involved in the work God is doing on the canals. There is no greater joy than giving out a Bible, a tract or a cup of tea, to passers-by in the hope that this might be the link which brings them to Jesus; to accept Him as their Saviour and experience His deep love for them.

As Christmas approaches, may we take this opportunity to bless you all in the Name of of our Lord Jesus, who came from the glorious Kingdom to earth that we, in His grace through faith in Him, would receive eternal life.

Such knowledge is too wonderful; too amazing but, nonetheless, true. As we go into 2020, a new decade, let us give thanks to God saying ‘Alleluia! For our Lord God Almighty reigns’. (Revelation 19:6).

To you our Lord Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be all the glory forevermore. Amen!

Every Blessing in Him
