After the mission in the summer, we decided to stay on the Llangollen Canal and around Ellesmere, continually cruising for the winter. It is the first year, in the three years we have lived on the boat, that we have continuously cruised. This means we cannot be in the same general area for more than 14 days. So, we travel between Llangollen and Whitchurch for the winter months.

We love to see what God is doing in Ellesmere and on the Canal. We have been asked to visit a couple on a boat who were suffering with ill health. We were able to listen and offer to lift them in prayer. We have a good opportunity to talk and get to know local boaters who moor up here for the winter or who are up here long term. We continue to go to the Cellar Church in Ellesmere and attend Life Groups when we can; we also enjoy visiting other churches along the Llangollen. We have been involved with community events, including the Winter Festival in Ellesmere, which is always good fun.

In October, we became the proud Grandparents of Felicity Elspeth Rose Buck and are so happy for this little bundle of blessing. As we enjoy the blessing of this, we also remember those who do not get to enjoy the blessing of children or grandchildren. There are often times in our lives that are difficult and we do not understand but, when we go through difficult times, we generally turn to the Psalms and find that they bring peace and reassurance of God’s presence in our lives.

We very much thank God for Chirk Marina. They took Kairos out of the water over the Christmas period to replace the stern gland. They have become great friends, and probably do not realise how grateful we are for them. Their generosity gave us a worry free time in Edinburgh and Folkestone over Christmas. May God bless them and their business.

At the moment, we are enjoying being in Llangollen and meeting new people up at this end of the canal. We have taken a winter mooring here for the remainder of the season. We are now praying about where we will be travelling over the spring and summer.
